Linda is a third year PhD student in Performance Studies, and holds Masters Degrees in both Dramatic Art and Art History. Her research investigates the collective performance of a city; specifically Black Rock City, Nevada, the home of Burning Man. She is framing her case study largely within reception and sublime theory, with the aim of unpacking the “hows” and “whys” surrounding the experience of both performers/observers and observers/performers within a temporary city.
Linda has been a professional actor, director, and playwright for over fifteen years, and considers herself a proud citizen of Black Rock City. She has always maintained her professional practice concurrently with traditional research, firmly believing that one cannot evolve without the other. She is also mother to Juliet and Eliot, whose love answers the enduring question: “Why more reason do you need?”
