Please join us Tuesday, December 1st for L.A.S.E.R., Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous. This is an evening (7pm-9pm) of four speakers from the arts and sciences who will give 20-minute talks from disciplines including medicine, visual arts and astrophysics. There is also time for mingling with the speakers and audience over snacks and drinks.

At 7:00-7:25. Dr. Robert Lang will be speaking on the art and science of origami.
Robert J. Lang is recognized as one of the foremost origami artists in the world as well as a pioneer in computational origami and the development of formal design algorithms for folding.
From 7:25-7:50 Dr. Charlotte Jacobs will speak about the biography she wrote, Jonas Salk: a Life, chronicles the life of one of America’s most beloved and decorated scientific heroes. His polio vaccine all but eradicated a crippling disease from the face of the earth, and the scientific community never forgave him.
From 8:10-8:35 Rachel Clarke, artist and educator teaching new media art at California State University, Sacramento, will talk about her latest art work, which combines physical and virtual modes of making.
Finally, from 8:35-9:00 Dr. Andreas Albrecht, a leading theoretical physicist who specializes in understanding the origins of the universe will be talking about “time.”
