We are pleased to announce the first participatory game design workshop for the GameCamp! 2016 season.

This workshop will be a slight modification of the Paper Prototyping workshop we held last December. You can check out the materials from that workshop as well as pictures from the event.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, from 6-8pm in MU II (in the Memorial Union).

If you weren’t able to attend the workshop last year, here’s your chance. It is a great introduction to thinking about game design as a process of modifying previous games and mechanics. It is also a nice crash course in understanding how video games are culturally meaningful and how as designers we can be thoughtful about the kinds of meanings our games create.

If you attended last year’s workshop, feel free to participate again. Refreshing game design principles is always good, and you will get another chance to work with people to develop a game concept.
