Prizes News
Memory Matters in Transitional Peru
Vice in the Barracks
Drug Mules
The last couple of months have seen huge achievements for Palgrave authors. On the Education side, huge congratulations go out to joint winners of the SPE book award, Noah De Lissovoy and Alan A. Block, whose books have been recognised for their ‘promotion of a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between education and the social complexities in which professors of education learn’. Two honourable mentions for this prize also go out to Palgrave authors Kate Phillippo and Conra D. Gist. Amplified by the joint success of the Palgrave Pivots Contemporary Capacity-Building in Educational Contexts and Educational Learning and Development for the 2015 Inaugural University of Southern Queensland Publication Excellence Awards for Authored Research Books, Education has been a prolific winning list this summer.

At the Latin American Studies Association Association Conference in San Juan Puerto Rico in May, Palgrave books Sexual Violence During War and Peace by Jelke Boesten and Memory Matters in Transitional Peru by Margarita Saona received a win and an honourable mention respectively by the Flora Tristán Book Award, an award given to the best book of the year by members of the Peru section.

Erica Wald’s History title Vice in the Barracks was shortlisted for two awards this year, each recognising debut works by first time authors that have made a notable contribution to their field, the 2015 Gladstone Prize and a newly established award within the Templar Competition hosted by the East India Club, where Erica picked up her certificate on the 29th April.

Revolutionizing Retail by Kendra Coulter has been honoured as the best book in Canadian work and labour studies by the Canadian Association for Work and Labour Studies 2014 Book Prize.

On the Social Sciences side of things, we are thrilled to commend prizes, and a member of the marketing team will respond to your query.

We also encourage our authors to keep us in the loop – if you enter your book for a prize, or if you are shortlisted or announced as the winner, drop the prizes inbox a quick note to let us know. We can use news like this to enhance the marketing of your book.
