forthcoming talk: David Clark: ON THE PROMISE OF PEACE; KANT’S WARTIME AND THE TREMULOUS BODY OF PHILOSOPHY

David Clark (McMaster) will be here on Monday Nov 17 to speak on ON THE PROMISE OF PEACE; KANT’S WARTIME AND THE TREMULOUS BODY OF PHILOSOPHY. This will be at 4pm in the Andrews Room, 2203 Social Science (NOT our usual space), aka ‘The Death Star’. I hope some of you will be able to attend.

David L. Clark has written a series of important articles on Kant and on Derrida (especially), and is at work on a study of the late Kant. He is a superb lecturer, much in demand, whose work is on the cutting edge of the interdisciplinary critique of violence. He is here for a conference the preceding weekend on interspecies thinking, and will also speak on Saturday afternoon (Nov 15) at the UCD Conference Center at 2pm on ‘What Remains to be Seen: Animal, Atrocity, Witness’.

I hope to see you at his talk.
